Hunter Resurrection
Buried City – Mars
With a Titan and Warlock in tow the searching Ghost floats over the invading sand piles deep within the Buried City's bowels. The two Guardians had been dispatched to escort the Ghost since losing another shard of the Travelor's Light was not an option. The pitch black curtain is pierced only by a single ray of sunlight filtering through a broken panel, the sand having been blown in enough to create a sizable dune underneath. The Vex and Cabal had been avoided thus far but the Guardians kept their eyes up, waiting to see just one other light in the darkness.
Titan: [sarcastically] Haven't we been through here before? I recognize that grain of sand.
Warlock: See that blood stain? We've been walking in circles.
Titan: Cabal blood is kind of a beautiful shade when it dries.
Warlock: That's a word I never thought I'd hear out of a Titan, 'beautiful'.
Titan: Yes, I know words with more than two syllables. We're not just brutes.
Warlock: [snorts] Could have fooled me.
Titan: I have scented candles in my dorm.
Warlock: [jealously] Where did you find those?
Titan: The Cryptarch.
Ghost: [excitedly] Found you!
The Hunter only has a couple fingers sticking out of the giant sand dune, the two Guardians digging with their hands to uncover the Hunter down to the waist. A single knife is gripped in the other hand, cloak barely intact after what seems a terrible shredding.
Titan: [looking at the Ghost] Looks like s/he got caught and went down swinging, literally. Are you sure you want one that doesn’t know when to retreat?
Ghost: S/he's perfect.
